Tuberculosis (TB), known as TBC abbreviation, is a lung infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The disease is transmitted from active tuberculosis patients who cough and secrete small droplets of saliva and are inhaled by healthy people who do not have immunity to the disease.
TB is among the top 10 diseases that cause death in the world. Minister of Health Professor Nila Djuwita F Moeloek said currently the second most Indonesian tuberculosis patient in the world after India so there must be a genuine effort from all related parties to lower it.
Supporting the Indonesian Government in combating tuberculosis in Indonesia, HOPE worldwide Indonesia through the TB clinic in Plumpang, North Jakarta, since 2000 in collaboration with Lions Club Indonesia and local Puskesmas trying to detect, treat and supervise TB patients and their families and the environment in which they live.
